About

Denise, Dativa, Leontia, Tertius, Emilianus, Boniface, Majoricus, and Servus are venerated as martyrs by the Catholic Church. They were killed in the late fifth century during the persecution of Trinitarian Christians in Proconsular Africa by the Arian Vandals, a persecution recorded by the historian Victor of Vita.

These martyrs suffered under the reign of the Arian king Hunneric, who sought to force orthodox Christians to deny the consubstantiality of the Son with the Father. Among them were women and men, lay and clerical, who bore witness to the true faith against a heretical regime that wielded the sword against those who confessed the Trinity.

Their feast is kept on December 6, and they are remembered as a cloud of witnesses who would not surrender the confession of Christ.
