About

Pope Abraham of Alexandria, also referred to as Efrem or Ephrem, was the 62nd Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark. He shepherded the Coptic Orthodox Church during a period of trial and preserved the faith of his people amid political and religious pressures.

As Patriarch, Abraham was revered for his wisdom, humility, and pastoral care. He guided the faithful of Egypt with fatherly love and upheld the ancient traditions of the Church of Alexandria. His leadership strengthened the Coptic community during a difficult era.

He is considered a saint by the Coptic Orthodox Church and is commemorated on December 3, remembered as a faithful shepherd of the flock of St. Mark.
