About

Saint Tudwal, known also as Tual, Tudgual, Tugdual, Tugual, Pabu, Papu, or in Latin Tugdualus, was a Breton monk counted among the seven founder saints of Brittany. In the early medieval age he crossed from the Celtic lands to the Armorican peninsula and helped establish the Christian faith there, founding monasteries and churches that became centers of devotion for generations. His memory is woven into the landscape of Brittany, where villages and parishes still bear his name. His feast is kept on 30 November. He is honored as a spiritual father of the Breton Church.

Suggested prayer

O God, who called Saint Tudwal to be one of the founding fathers of the Breton Church, grant through his intercession that the faith he planted may endure and flourish in every generation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
