About
Saints Cyprian and Justina suffered martyrdom at Nicomedia during the fierce Diocletianic Persecution in the year 304. According to tradition, Cyprian was a magician of Antioch who, failing to overcome the Christian virgin Justina by his arts, was himself converted by her steadfast faith. Together they confessed Christ before the pagans and were put to death for refusing to renounce the Lord.
Honoured in the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Oriental Orthodoxy, they are remembered on September 26 as a powerful witness to the triumph of grace over the powers of darkness and the victory of faith over fear.
Suggested prayer
O God, who turned the magician Cyprian to the faith of your servant Justina and gave them both the crown of martyrdom, grant through their intercession that we may overcome every evil power and remain steadfast in your truth. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
