About

Saints Cyrion and Candidus are Armenian martyrs honoured in the ancient calendars of the East. They are venerated together with the Forty Armenian Martyrs, and their feast is kept on March 10. Little certain detail of their lives survives, but they are numbered among the confessors who shed their blood for Christ during the age of persecution.

Remembered as faithful witnesses who would not abandon the Gospel, Cyrion and Candidus stand among the countless unnamed and half-remembered martyrs of the early Church, whose witness strengthened the faithful and built up the Church in the lands of Armenia.

Suggested prayer

O God, who gave Saints Cyrion and Candidus courage to lay down their lives for your name, grant through their intercession that all who suffer for the faith may be strengthened and that your Church may be built up by the witness of your martyrs. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
